Najmeddine HARRABI
Najmeddine Naaj Harrabi, is an African standup comic and filmmaker from Sidi Bouzid, Tunisia. Currently based in Los Angeles, California, Harrabi's journey in the arts took him from being a young farmer and a shepherd in North Africa to a journey in the arts through multiple cities, countries and continents all the way to the West Coast.
BACKGROUND & ORIGIN:
After spending his childhood in his village of Ouled Haffouz, Naaj's passion for storytelling and performance led him to move and attend for schooling in the city of Sfax. This is where he became involved in media literacy and Tunisian civil society. shortly after, Harrabi co-founded a youth empowerment organization called We-Youth Tunisia, Harrabi was a spokesperson and led the media department before winning him a spot at the African Leadership Academy class of 2013. At ALA, South Africa, in a community of Africans from all over the continent, Naaj further explored his passion for comedy and filmmaking. Through his work at Sanyu Productins, Harrabi launched his comedy show"NaajShow", a satirical global and African news show for student, that screened weekly during campus reunions. After two years at ALA in Jo'burg South Africa, Harrabi went on to become a Hesburgh-Yusko Scholar at the University of Notre Dame.
At Notre Dame's Film and Theatre Department (FTT), Naaj focused on building and refining his craft as an actor and director on stage, behind and in front of the camera. Through FTT , Harrabi made several student films and got his stage debut as an actor and as a director at the Debortolo Performing Arts Center at Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana. Naaj took classes in second City during his summers in Chicago. He also interned for CONAN as a script intern during its season Finale on TBS.
During this time, Harrabi began performing stand-up comedy all around campus, South bend, Chicago and eventually LA.
Simultaneously, Naaj never stopped expressing himself through other creative works in photography and film production. Upon graduating Notre Dame, Harrabi accepted an offer to pursue an MFA in film production at The University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts as a George Lucas Scholar. Naaj to an opportunity to further refine his skills and vision as a filmmaker, and he went on to earn an MFA in Film & TV Production in Directing & Sound.
Shortly after, Naaj announced the release of his debut comedy special. A special that deals with a number of themes from his life, travels, family dynamics, and especially his shepherd and farming childhood in the mountains of North Africa.
Throughout his journey, Naaj has worked tirelessly to develop his craft and create content.

UPCOMING PROJECS
Harrabi aims to spread joy, thought, and especially his shepherd jokes to audiences worldwide. Whether it be through his films, stand-up comedy, or other creative endeavors, Harrabi's ambitions is to express himself and showcase the culture and stories of his people from his village and Africa as a whole, as well as the immigrants he met during his journey.
His upcoming comedy tour, ONE BUN MAN, and his latest special, Legal Alien, are just a few examples of his continuous efforts to spread laughter, thought and positivity through comedy.
